Good morning!

In honor of the Specialty Coffee Association of America event happening in Portland Friday 4/20 – Sunday 4/22, and because we at Plush Puffs LOVE coffee, this week’s s’more of the week is all about coffee. Turn your morning cuppa into a s’more treat!

Ingredients (for one cup of joe, s’more style):

  • One Vanilla Bean MugToppers marshallow from Plush Puffs Gourmet Marshmallows
  • A cup of your favorite artisanal coffee
  • Some graham crackers

S'mores and coffeeBrew your coffee and add whatever you like to add. Top it off with a MugTopper and let it melt into the coffee a bit. Sip away! MugToppers melt slowly and evenly so there is marshmallow the whole way through. Dip the graham into the coffee and scoop some marshmallow up for a tasty wake-me-up!

Shamrock S’more. Sh’more. S’mrock. SHA’MORE!

Seems that around St. Patrick’s Day, if you’re not eating corned beef or drinking green beer, you’re eating something minty and green. So, here’s a minty-green s’more that takes advantage of the fact that it’s also Girl Scout cookie season.

Ingredients (for one s’more)

  • One Vanilla Bean marshmallow from Plush Puffs Gourmet Marshmallows
  • 2 Girl Scout Thin Mints
  • 1/2 Tbs. scoop of mint chip ice cream

Make sure the ice cream is really, really frozen so it stays cold long enough to eat. Place a scoop of ice cream on one of the cookies. Quickly toast the marshmallow, put it on the ice cream and top with the other cookie. Eat it up before it totally melts. It’s messy, but soooo good. Minty, creamy and the hot of the marshmallow works really well with the cold ice cream.

Ice cream and toasted marshmallows are a perfect match. Look for more ice cream based s’mores soon! And HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY FROM PLUSH PUFFS!

Sometimes simple is the best. This s’more is simple in its ingredients (just 2!) but not simple in its flavors and texture.

And those flavors are perfect for Valentine’s Day! Chocolate dipped fruit is a classic V-Day dessert and one of our favorites has always been real cherries combined with chocolate. So our Cherry Chocolate Chip marshmallow was born! This is no fakey maraschino candied cherry flavoring, but rather real, all-natural Bing cherry goodness in a fluffy bite topped with our signature Belgium chocolate chips.

Graham Sweet Crisps from 34 DegreesWe combined the Cherry Chocolate Chip Plush Puffs with these super crispy, light as air graham Sweet Crips from 34 Degrees that we found at the Fancy Food Show in January. 34 Degrees is well known for its savory, thin crackers so these are a fun new product. They are great for s’mores because they are only slightly sweet, so the marshmallow brings most of the sweet to the party.

This s’mores recipe makes a tasty and indulgent but VERY light dessert for a romantic Valentine’s Day.

Ingredients (for one s’more):

  • One Cherry Chocolate Chip marshmallow from Plush Puffs Gourmet Marshmallows
  • 2 crispy, thin cookies, such as Sweet Crisps in graham from 34 Degrees

Place one cookie on a plate. Toast the marshmallow and place on top of the cookie. Top with the second cookie. You don’t need any chocolate because of the chocolate chips in the marshmallow! Romantically easy :-)

What a show! We had an great show this year. We met lots of new and long-time chefs, artisanal food creators, retailers, distributors, and in general, people who like creative food made with the best stuff. We were very happy with the response to our new flavors Cherry Chocolate Chip and Mango Tango (which you can buy on our website) and our new Mug Toppers (TM), marshmallow rounds to go on top of a mug of hot cocoa.

Today we had booth help from Rachael Narins from the amazing cooking, teaching, chefing, catering, pickling, culinary touring duo Chicks with Knives. Her energy and love of food was a huge help. Thanks again Rachael!
