We often top our favorite ice cream flavors with toasted marshmallows, but we’ve never incorporated them into ice cream. Now the creative talents of Lili Chin at the ice cream recipe blog “We All Scream” has done just that.
Lili has been experimenting with delicious ice cream flavors and illustrating the recipes for this cute and yummy blog for a while now. We’ve known her for years, so when she decided to try a recipe that included marshmallows, she turned to Plush Puffs. The result is so very, very awesome.
She added marshmallows to two ice creams and we got to try them (and others) to our great joy. The Sweet Potato Ice Cream with Toasted Gingerbread Marshmallows is so good we are all fighting over it. You can really taste the sweet potatoes and the creaminess of the cream cheese in the ice cream make you want to savor every bite. But then you get a bite with gooey but crunchy toasted Gingerbread Spice marshmallows from Plush Puffs and it’s just over the top. The cold ice cream encapsulates the gooey toasty goodness and really comes out when you take a bite. Totally love it.
Lili also incorporated Plush Puffs, this time our new Mochaccino marshmallows into what she calls “Dirty Girl Scout Ice Cream” which is basically a fancy s’mores ice cream with Kahlua, Bailey’s Irish Cream and vodka (thus the dirty), and mint and almond extracts. So many flavors in each bite! Wow!
Because she is a mensch, Lili also gave us a couple other, non-marshmallow, flavors to try.
Pear Caramel Ice Cream, with Trader Joe’s Fleur de Sal Caramel Sauce (a fav of ours) is that perfect, fall combination. And Black Coffee Ice Cream made with an espresso hot fudge sauce is the coffee-iest coffee ice cream I’ve ever had. A real eye-opener 🙂
