S’more of the Week: Pumpkin Pie
September 23rd, 2011 · 1 Comment
Today is officially the first day of Fall for 2011! Can you feel it? Well, we sure can’t given that it’s in the mid-80s with high-ish humidity in beautiful downtown Burbank where Plush Puff’s factory is. But chillier mornings and evenings are making us think and dream about all the fun of Fall and, always, all the flavors of Fall.

This week we announced that our 2 Fall Special Edition flavors are available online (and for wholesale to your favorite retailers so ask them to order up!). Gingerbread Spice is back and new for this year is the delectable Pumpkin Pie. Gingerbread Spice has been making my morning coffee really great lately and Pumpkin Pie tastes so much like the pie that it makes me grin from ear to ear each time I savor one.
So Pumpkin Pie Smore it is!
Ingredients (for one s’more):
- One Pumpkin Pie Plush Puffs Gourmet Marshmallow
- 2 graham cracker halves
- A 1″ x 1″ square of milk chocolate
Put the chocolate on one graham half. Toast the pumpkin marshmallow and put it on top of the chocolate. Top with the other graham. Let the chocolate melt for a little, smoosh the sandwich together and dig in.
I’m going to try it again with some whipped cream instead of the chocolate for the real holiday experience. Or maybe in addition to the chocolate. Hmmm….

S’more of the Week: “Yooper” Bar Smore (aka Michigan S’more Pt. 2)
September 2nd, 2011 · No Comments
It’s time for another s’more made with some treats from Michigan. Last time we made one with a Sanders Ice Cream Topping to raging delicious success. This week we made one with one of our Yooper Bars made by Sayklly’s Confectionery and Gifts in Escanaba, MI in the Upper Peninsula – aka the U.P. Get it? One who hails from the U.P. is a Yooper! Sayklly’s has been making yummy things for over 100 years so they know what they are doing.
We got dark chocolate and milk chocolate. We used the dark chocolate for this s’more so we immediately went for a Toasty Coconut marshmallow. Dark chocolate and coconut are a great match. The Yooper bar dark chocolate tasted like dark chocolate brownie mix before it’s baked. Not the dark chocolate we’re used to, but yummy none-the-less.
Note the shape of the U.P. molded into the bar!
Ingredients (for one s’more):
- Two Toasty Coconut Plush Puffs Gourmet Marshmallows
- Two lightly sweet, crispy cookies. We used some rectangular shaped sesame cookies.
- 2-3 chunks of dark chocolate Yooper Bar
Place one cookie on a plate. Toast up the coconut marshmallows and put them on top of the cookie on the plate. Top the marshmallows with the chunks of Yooper Bar. Watch the chocolate melt and begin to get hungry. Top the chocolate with the second cookie to make the sandwich and chomp down!

S’more of the Week: Sanders Michigan Caramel Sauce Smore
August 19th, 2011 · 1 Comment

Sanders Milk Chocolate Hot Fudge holds a place in my heart – and my taste buds.
As mentioned on Facebook/Twitter, about a month ago, some of “Team Plush Puffs” took a family trip to Michigan & Chicago for a family wedding and to visit other family. While there, we were sure to eat some of the treats that part of the mid-west has to offer – frozen custard, cheese curds, Chicago stuffed pizza, pasties and more. And we picked up some good stuff to make s’mores with.
When I was about 11 or so years old, my parents and brother and I went to visit my grandparents outside of Detroit. They had a beautiful home in a tree-filled neighborhood on an acre of grass and greenery filled with birds. They also lived near a Sanders ice cream parlor. The hot fudge from Sanders is still the best I’ve ever tasted. A memorable trip for so many reasons.
So naturally, when we saw some at Greenfield Village in Detroit, we had to buy some. But we got adventurous and got the Cinnamon Pear Caramel Sauce instead of just chocolate. This was a good decision.
We brought it home and made this s’more when my brother visited with his family because I wanted to share some Sanders with him again. Yay for family and yay for caramel sauce!!
Ingredients (for one s’more):
- 1 Caramel Swirl Plush Puffs Gourmet Marshmallow
- 1 Thin, crispy cookies. I used the Swiss Almond Crunch Cookies from Trader Joes
- 1 A Tbs. of warmed up Sanders Cinnamon Pear Caramel Sauce
Toast the marshmallow, place on top of the cookie. Pour the caramel sauce on top of the marshmallow. Gobble it up. Smile. Wipe the dribble of sauce off your chin. Repeat.

S’more of the Week: Salty Potato Chip Smore
July 15th, 2011 · No Comments

Crunchy + salty + sweet = the delicious trifecta!
When you get the desire for a small snack, do you ever find yourself asking “Do I want salty or sweet?” Of course, the best answer is always “Both!” This s’more has it all. I used our caramel marshmallow because salted caramels taste good!
Ingredients (for one s’more):
- 1 Caramel Swirl Plush Puffs Gourmet Marshmallow
- 1 Graham Cracker half
- 1 square of your favorite chocolate (I used 60% cocoa dark chocolate)
- 1-2 (depending on chip size) regular, salty potato chip
Place the graham square on a plate and the chocolate on top of the graham cracker. Toast up the Caramel Swirl Plush Puff and place it on top of the chocolate. Break the potato chips into smaller pieces and place pieces on top of the marshmallow until it’s pretty well covered. The chips act as the top of the smore “sandwich.” Crunch away!
