L’shanah Tova to all! Here’s to a sweet new year for everyone. Even though our marshmallows aren’t kosher (working on it!) since Rosh Hashanah was this week, we thought we’d take the cue and make this week’s smore with apples and honey. It’s tradition to dip slices of apples into honey to help ensure a sweet new year. This recipe calls for baking rings of apples in honey and then topping it all with toasted Sydney’s Cinnamon Plush Puffs. Sweet indeed!
- 10-15 Sydney’s Cinnamon Plush Puffs Gourmet Marshmallows
- 3-4 large baking apples
- 2/3 cup of honey
- 1 Tbs. granulated sugar
- 2 Tbs. water
- 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 3 Tbs. butter
Core the apples (no need to peel) and cut into 4 thick rounds. Arrange in a shallow buttered baking dish. Combine the honey, water, sugar and cinnamon. Pour over apples. Bake at 350 degrees F for 40-45 minutes, basting occasionally until the apples are soft. Top with the Plush Puffs and cook under the broiler just until the marshmallows get toasted on top. Serve in dishes with the sauce and enjoy! Tastes even better over some vanilla ice cream.
