Valentine’s Day Dessert Recipe

People have been asking us for a fun and tasty Valentine’s Day recipe – one that will impress and bring the sexy! This one has been a hit with the Plush Puffs spouses so it just might be a hit with your V-day date:

Cinnamon Puffwich

Make super sexy oatmeal cookies (recipe below), making the cookie drops as equal as possible.

Arrange the cookies on a prep board upside down. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to shape them into hearts. Thread two Sydney’s Cinnamon Plush Puffs (which you can buy in bulk) on a skewer and toast over a flame.  Once they are at a peak toasted point (dark and gooey) transfer them to one of the cookies.  Sandwich the other cookie on top and squish together so melted marshmallow oozes out the edges.  Roll edges over Maple Walnut pieces (see recipe below) and set aside.  One recipe makes about 20 Plushpuffwiches.

Super Sexy Oatmeal Cookies

1  cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
1  cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2  cup granulated sugar
2  eggs
1  teaspoon vanilla
1-1/2  cups all-purpose flour
1  teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1  teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2  teaspoon salt
3  cups oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked)

Preheat oven to 350°F.  Cream butter and sugars in a mixer until creamy, approximately 3 minutes.  Add eggs and vanilla and beat for another 2 minutes.  Add flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt and continue to mix until the dough has come together.  Add oats and mix.  Drop by rounded tablespoons or cookie scoop onto cookie sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges are golden brown.  Remove from oven and allow the cookies to remain on cookie sheet for 3 minutes before moving to a cooling rack.

Maple Walnut Crunchies

1/2 Cup Walnut pieces (or chopped walnuts to about 1/4″)
1 T Butter
2 Ts Maple Syrup

In a heavy bottom pan or iron skillet – combine the walnuts, butter and maple syrup.  Saute over medium flame until syrup and butter are absorbed into the walnuts and walnuts are toasted.  Let cool for 5 minutes.
